He went on to establish the publishing arm in 1972, where he authored and published over a hundred titles, many of which he co-wrote and developed with local teachers and colleagues. Reginald Charran is recognised as a pioneer for his vision and work in developing the textbook publishing industry in Trinidad and Tobago. His titles remain hugely popular and widely available throughout the Caribbean. Prior to his death in January 2018, he divested control of his publishing businesses, Charran Publishing House and Archimedes Publishers to his son, Rico Charran, owner and Managing Director of Charran Book Services Ltd.
